ARTICLE XX Safe and Healthful Working Conditions

146. The Company and the Union shall use their best efforts to provide for and maintain safe and healthful working conditions for all employees covered by this Agreement. The Company will offer an EKG to each employee as a part of their annual physical.

12 hour workers - Employees shall have a minimum of 2 days off in 21 days. 8 hour workers - Employees shall have a minimum of 2 days off in 28 days.

No person shall work more than 18 of 24 consecutive hours without the express written approval of the Plant Manager.

The company w the days not worked for the previous 21/28 days, updated weekly.

If an employee is forced to take off on his/her regularly scheduled work day due to set of standards he/she will be paid at the applicable rate (ie: overtime, double time) had he/she worked such shift. This day shall also be counted as a day worked for the purpose of computing overtime.

No employee will be forced to work more than the maximum number of days appropriate to his/her job classification.

147. The Company and Union agree to the formation and ongoing support of the Joint Safety Committee to deal with matters of safety and health.

148. Each employee may purchase up to two pairs of safety shoes each year. The Company will provide $250 towards the cost of those shoes, orthopedic steel-toe shoes included, when (except under special conditions where the employee cannot be fitted) they are purchased from the vendor s

visiting the site. Should the price of the shoes exceed $250 the employee will pay the vendor directly for the balance.
