ARTICLE VIII Holidays
26. All employees covered by the Agreement, who perform no work on the holidays listed below shall be paid a holiday Thanksgiving Day, The Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and two (2) floating holidays. The Union will propose to the Company by November 30, a schedule for the two (2) floating holidays for the following calendar year. The holidays should be scheduled on
days adjacent to the listed single day holidays to extend the holiday to the nearest weekend if possible. The floating holidays will be observed by all union members on their scheduled days.
27. It is understood that employees shall receive a holiday allowance for each of such holidays provided they have worked the regular work day preceding such holiday, and also upon the regular work day succeeding such holiday, unless a good and sufficient reason acceptable to the Company is furnished by the employee. Scheduled holidays must be worked or absence excused by the Company before holiday pay is granted.
28. An employee who is entitled to receive disability benefits payment on a holiday will receive his holiday benefit, base pay times eight (8) hours, and will not be charged for disability benefits on that day.

s vacation period, eligible employee shall receive his holiday (8 hours) pay for such holiday in addition to his full vacation.
Note for clarification: Vacations will be granted on Holidays only if entire week is taken on vacation. Single day vacations cannot be taken on a holiday if employee is scheduled off.
30. If a unit Holiday Shutdown results in a 12 hour shift worker not being allowed to work their regular 36 hour week, the employee will be paid a minimum of 36 hours (not including overtime).
31. When a h by the employee, such holiday will be counted as a day worked for the purpose of computing overtime pay provided he qualified for holiday pay. When a holiday falls on an employee worked for the purpose of computing overtime pay.
32. If an employee is required to work any of the twelve (12) holidays listed above and she qualified for holiday pay, she shall receive one and one half (1 -1/2) times her hourly base rate for hours worked up to eight (8) on such holiday in addition to holiday allowance. Work performed in excess of eight (8) hours on such holiday shall be paid for at the rate of double time which shall be the maximum payable for such hours.
33. All workers will celebrate holidays on the actual date except that Saturday holidays will be celebrated on Friday and Sunday holidays will be celebrated on Monday. In the event that Friday is also a holiday, it will be celebrated on Thursday, and if Monday is also a holiday, it will be celebrated on Tuesday. Employees working shift schedules other than Monday Friday will observe Independence Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year s Day on the actual calendar day they occur.
