ARTICLE II Recognition 2. A. Pursuant to the election held August 2 and August 3, 1962 under the auspices of the National Labor Relations Board, Case No. 9RC50I5, and to certification by said Board, under date of August 13, 1962 the Company hereby recognizes the Union as the exclusive bargaining agent for all its hourly paid maintenance and production employees but excluding office clerical employees, laboratory technicians, guards, watchmen, janitors, professional and supervisory employees for the purpose of collective bargaining, in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment and other conditions of employment.
3. B. Shop Committee and Departments Stewards. The employees in the bargaining unit shall be represented by a Shop Committee of not more than three (3) members who shall be the Local President, the Chief Steward, and a Department Steward. There shall be eight (8) Stewards, one (1) for each shift, two (2) for Department A (one (1) for R&M and one (1) for Utilities), two (2) for Department C (one (1) for Tank Car Unloading and Material Handling and one (1) for Labor Pool.) Such Stewards and/or Committee members shall be selected by the Union from the geographical areas assigned to them.
4. C. For the purpose of handling grievances, shop stewards, or shop committee
members, may visit areas other than their own only after they have notified and received permission of their supervisor. Upon entering an area other than their own for the purpose of investigating or adjusting grievances, they shall notify the supervisor of the visited area of their presence and purpose. When such visit is completed, they shall immediately return to their jobs.
